Great products, bad companies — and the work nobody talks about

Amy Mitchell writes that shipping a solid product is only half the job. The other half is running the company — the messy stuff nobody puts on a product roadmap.

The piece walks through what those workflows actually look like: pricing, sales, support, ops, the unglamorous gears that keep the thing alive. Most product writers skip this. They show the pretty UI and pretend the rest happens by magic.

It's a good read for anyone building something and wondering why it's not growing. The answer is usually sitting in one of those buckets she calls out.

Why this matters for us: a lot of our gente are learning to build apps and storefronts without knowing the rest of the business — and that gap costs them real money.

“Shipping the thing is only half the job.”
