Lara AI · Privacy
PRIVACY POLICY
Effective date: June 30, 2026
The short version: your memory vault never leaves your device. We hold only what we need to run your account and subscription. We do not store your conversations or your memories on our servers, and we run no third-party analytics or ad SDKs.
Your memories stay on your device
Lara AI keeps its long-term memory in a single file on your device, encrypted with AES-256-GCM. That file can only be opened with your passphrase, which we never receive and never store.
Brown Forces does not hold a copy of your memory vault, and we cannot read it. If you lose your passphrase, we cannot recover the vault for you — that is the trade-off of a design where only you hold the key.
What we collect
We collect the minimum needed to run your account, enforce your trial or subscription, and generate Lara's replies:
- Sign in with Apple identifier and email. When you sign in with Apple we receive an account identifier and an email address (which may be Apple's private relay address). We use these to create and manage your account and subscription.
- Messages processed in transit. Our inference gateway processes each message you send — and only the on-device context your app chooses to include with it — to generate Lara's reply, then discards it. It is processed in transit, not stored. Being honest: the model must read that context in flight to answer you, so the accurate claim is "we never store your data," not "we never see it."
- Minimal usage counts. We keep basic counts such as the number of requests you have made, so we can enforce trial limits and subscription entitlements.
What we do NOT collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit to our servers any of the following:
- Your memory vault or anything inside it.
- Your conversation history.
- Analytics, advertising, or tracking data — Lara AI contains no third-party analytics or ad SDKs.
Subscriptions and payments
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never see or store your payment details. To confirm your subscription status, we validate the signed receipt that Apple provides.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: Settings → Delete account. This erases your account record and any keys associated with it from our systems.
Your on-device memory file belongs to you. Deleting your account does not touch it — you can keep it or delete it from your device yourself.
Data location and retention
The limited account data described above is stored on Brown Forces infrastructure. We keep your account record while your account is active, and delete it when you delete your account or request deletion. Messages sent to the inference gateway are processed transiently and are not retained.
Children
Lara AI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
