Moves of the Diamond Hand is an unfinished, irresistibly weird dice-based RPG

Moves of the Diamond Hand is an Early Access dice-based RPG from Cosmo D — musician, game designer, the kind of creative who builds things outside the mainstream. Available on PC, macOS, and SteamOS, the game asks you to roll a lot of dice and have a lot of strange conversations. Get on board with that deal, and you get one of the more creative RPGs in years, even if the mysteries won't resolve until 2027.

The game looks and plays like a 2000s-era first-person RPG or immersive sim: grimy, stark, blocky environments, jazz-noir mood, and dice rolling that drives everything from conversations to combat. It's not finished — it never will be, Cosmo D has said — and that's the point. A lot of games try to be complete products. This one is an artifact, a record of someone making what they want to make.

Why this matters for us: the best work often comes from people building outside the system — musicians, small creators, the kind of folks who don't wait for permission to make something that matters.

A musician building a game outside the mainstream. That's the whole point.
