Webb sees what Hubble missed, and the old rules don't hold
The James Webb telescope has been up there for a while now, and the data is rewriting textbook chapters. Galaxies that Hubble said shouldn't exist this early are showing up — big ones, bright ones, already mature when they ought to still be forming. The old cosmology models didn't predict this. Webb's infrared eye peels back the veil on the first billion years, and the universe looks different than it used to.
This is the kind of thing that makes astronomers sit up. The telescope sees light stretched red by the expansion of space, so it looks back 13 billion years. What it found surprises the people who built the models — galaxies forming faster and packing more mass than anyone expected. New data, new theories. The sky isn't the same map it was.
Why this matters for us: Webb shows us that the universe is messier and more surprising than the textbooks say — the same way la vida real is messier than the brochures. The old rules bend when you look close enough.
