SpaceX launches V3 Starlink satellites but booster relights fail again
SpaceX launched a second Starship V3 flight carrying new Starlink satellites, but the booster section had trouble relighting its engines on the return. The company got some boxes checked — more satellites, more flights — but the booster problem is back, and it's the same kind of failure the first V3 flight had.
Starship is the big rocket Elon Musk wants to use for everything: Starlink, Mars, cargo. The booster is the first stage that lifts off, drops its payload, and needs to light its engines again to come back and catch the tower. Relighting is the hard part — the engines cool down, the propellant sloshes, the valves don't always cooperate. This is the third or fourth flight with a booster relight issue, and it's the bottleneck.
Why this matters for us: if Starship keeps stalling on relight, the whole push toward cheaper launches — and the satellites that would eventually reach more people worldwide — stays stuck in development, and the public relations wins mask the real delays.
