Roland drops Melody Flip — AI ideas, not finished tracks

Roland is rolling out Melody Flip, a plugin for your DAW that uses generative AI to spit out musical ideas. You get about 250 palettes sorted by genre — think of them as themed buckets of riffs and progressions — and you can ask for any combination: melody, chords, bass, or drums. It also takes a reference track and builds off its melodic DNA.

The key distinction: this isn't Suno or Udio. You won't get a polished vocal track with drums and bass all baked in. Melody Flip hands you raw musical fragments you can drag into your project and rearrange. It's a sketchpad, not a jukebox.
