Reddit is learning from TikTok — and letting you listen to the stories

Reddit is building a video feature for its most popular posts. Users can watch or just listen — no screen required. The model comes from TikTok: viral stories set over gameplay or stock footage, the kind of clip that shows up in your feed and you watch without thinking about it.

CEO Steve Huffman says the feature is already in the works and could start testing later this year. The idea is simple enough: take the text posts that already spread through the site, pair them with video, and let people consume them however they want.

This is Reddit quietly becoming more like the platforms it used to look down on. The stories are still there — the drama, the rants, the real talk — but the delivery is catching up to how people actually watch things now.
