NASA's Roman telescope just proved a coronagraph can block stars
The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is sitting in space right now, and it's carrying something you won't find on any other observatory: a coronagraph. Think of it as a tiny mask that blocks the light of a star so you can see the faint planets orbiting it. Astronomers just ran their first real test of this hardware, and it worked.
