Midjourney buys astrology app Co-Star

Midjourney, the AI art studio that started with cat pictures and has since gone full medical by generating ultrasound scans, picked up a new line of business: astrology. The startup announced Thursday it acquired the personalized horoscope app Co-Star, first reported by Bloomberg. The deal reportedly closed in spring, though the terms weren't disclosed.

Co-Star is a free app that feeds you daily readings and lets you check compatibility with friends. It blends human-written insight, NASA data, and AI to deliver the kind of advice you actually read in the morning — the sort of thing people forward to their group chats. Midjourney founder David Holz and Co-Star founder Banu are the people behind it.
