La escasez de memoria — y lo que le cuesta a la gente

Samsung is bracing for a memory shortage that won't bottom out until 2028. The bottleneck is AI — data centers are gobbling up DRAM and pushing prices up across the board. Samsung and SK Hynix already put $550 billion into memory to keep the pipeline from starving. They'll need every bit of it.

The price hike is already visible in retail. Laptops, phones, servers — whatever carries DRAM is getting more expensive. The shortage is supply-driven, not a blip. Two years of AI data centers built out at once means the RAM is gone, and new capacity takes time to come online.

Why this matters for us: the price of the tools we rely on — our servers, our routers, the hardware in the shops — is going up for a good while. La migra app runs on this hardware, la gente buys it. Tight supply means tighter margins for the small shops that can't pass costs along.
