Bad data means bad decisions

Here’s the thing nobody wants to admit: most businesses are flying blind. Not because they lack ambition. Not because the hustle is weak. Because the data they’re counting on is garbage.

I’ve seen it firsthand. The cousin who runs the side business, the one who thinks his spreadsheet is a strategy? It’s not. He’s making decisions off a ledger that hasn’t been updated since 2019. And he’s proud of it.

The problem isn’t the tools. It’s the trust. We trust the dashboard. We trust the “insights” tab. We trust the automated report that says “revenue up 12%” while the bank account says otherwise. We don’t question the source. We don’t check the math. We just nod and move on.

And that’s where the rot starts.

Bad data doesn’t just lead to bad decisions. It leads to wrong decisions. Decisions that cost you money, time, and trust. Decisions that make you look foolish in front of your familia, your customers, your team.

The fix isn’t a new tool. It’s a new habit. Question the number. Ask where it came from. Check the source. If you can’t explain it, it’s not worth acting on.

La gente thinks data is magic. It’s not. It’s just numbers. And numbers don’t lie — but people who report them might.

Why this matters for us: If we’re making decisions off bad data, we’re not just losing money — we’re losing the trust of the comunidad that counts on us to be sharp, honest, and real.

“Numbers don’t lie — but people who report them might.”
