AI is not replacing marketing — it is a new kind of worker

A reader named Almundo wrote on Substack that the usual panic — AI is coming for your job — is backwards. The real story is that AI is becoming a coworker, not a replacement. Think of the way an intern shows up on day one: they can draft copy, sort data, write the first pass at a deck, and do it without complaining. That is what AI does now. It is the intern.

The piece says the old model was a person doing the work. The new model is a person directing a small team of AI interns. You tell each one what to do. You review. You correct. You put the pieces together. The output is better than any single intern could produce, and the cost is a fraction of a salary.

This is not a vague metaphor. The author points to how marketing teams are already reorganizing around this — fewer senior writers, more prompts, more review. The work is still yours; the tools just changed.

Why this matters for us: if you run a side business or a small shop, you don't need to hire a full team to get good copy, ads, and reports — you can point AI interns at the work and keep the quality yourself.

AI is the intern — it drafts the work; you review it.
